Methacrylate monomers

Methacrylate monomers are among the most versatile and efficient building blocks of macromolecular chemistry.

Alkyl methacrylate monomers like e.g. MMA and BMA are primarily used as building blocks for synthetic resins. Esters with bulky side chains like e.g. EHMA and IBOMA provide solution polymers of reduced viscosity and higher solids content.
Hydroxyesters are recommended for heat or ambient cured, thermoset coatings with permanent marring and solvent resistance, high gloss retention and weatherability.
